I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t send bills to your insurance. Some insurance plans may pay back part of the cost if you send them a receipt (called a superbill). Coverage can be different for everyone, so it’s a good idea to check with your insurance to see what they offer.

Format

Sessions take place through SimplePractice secure video calls. You can use the live chat if writing feels easier than speaking. After we’ve gotten started, audio-only sessions may be an option if your nervous system finds video too overwhelming or overstimulating.

FAQs

  • Yes, I can write letters for gender-affirming care for clients I currently see. We do this collaboratively, within the context of ongoing therapy and informed consent.

  • Life happens. My standard policy is that sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at half the session fee. No-shows are charged the full session fee. That said, I understand that things like executive dysfunction, flare-ups, or overwhelm can make it hard to manage appointments. If you need an accommodation around this policy, you’re always welcome to reach out and we can talk about it.

  • Sliding scale spots are limited and only offered when they are available. I don’t keep a waiting list, and these spots aren’t held for anyone. Because of this, clients who begin at the standard rate should only do so if they feel confident they can sustain that fee for the duration of their work with me. This helps keep therapy consistent and reduces financial uncertainty.

  • No. All sessions are held through secure telehealth for clients living in Rhode Island or Massachusetts. I may consider offering in-person sessions in the future.

  • I offer optional Care Plan Meetings, where you, a trusted support person (if you choose), and I can talk together about your goals, needs, and what kind of support works best for you. You decide who joins, what is shared, and when. These meetings can be especially helpful if you’re navigating disability, executive functioning challenges, or medical systems, and they help make your care feel organized, supportive, and tailored to you.

  • Yes, longer sessions are available for clients who need extra time to settle in, regulate, or go more deeply into what they want to explore. The rate is the same per quarter hour as a standard session, so you only pay for the extra time you use. For example, a standard 50-minute session is $200, and each additional 15 minutes is $50.

  • Yes, absolutely. Some clients shift between speaking and non-speaking modes, temporarily lose access to spoken language, or simply feel safer expressing themselves in writing. You’re always welcome to use the chat box during sessions, or even type your responses entirely if that feels easier. We’ll work together to make communication feel accessible and low-pressure.

  • My practice is currently focused on individual therapy with adults (18+). I do not see couples or families at this time.
